Street Boss, a four-year-old son of Street Cry, won the G3 Los Angeles Handicap at Hollywood Park on his Stakes debut on Saturday.
Trailing the field early after clipping heals with a rival at the start, he made his move in the stretch to win comfortably by one-length, in the process running a new six-furlong track record in 1:07.55. This was his fifth win in nine starts, winning over $220,000 in prize money.
Three of those wins were at Santa Anita and the Breeders’ Cup Sprint looks on the agenda, back there later this season.
Bred by Brilliant Stables, he is out of the Stakes placed mare, Blushing Ogygian, who now has produced two Stakes performers from two runners.
