The success of Darley stallion Street Cry continued on Saturday when his two-year-old colt, Cry of Freedom maintained his unbeaten record in the Listed Washington Singer Stakes.
A three-and-a-half length debut winner at Sandown, he put the experience to good use to bounce out and make all the running and came home an unchallenged two-and-a-quarter length winner. A step up in grade now looks likely and he holds future entries in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes and Racing Post Trophy.
Bred by Clovelly Farms, he is the second foal of Stakes placed mare Tustarta, whose first foal is the G3 placed filly Lickerty Lemon and is from the family of Breeders' Cup Classic winner Pleasantly Perfect.
Street Cry has had a tremendous season so far with multiple G1 winners Zenyatta and Street Boss flying the flag as well as unbeaten G2 winning juvenile Desert Party.
Also on Saturday in the US, Elusive Quality filly Elusive Horizon doubled her tally of Stakes wins when running out a length-and-three-quarters victor of the Listed Washington Oaks. She has now won four of her eight starts with earnings of $115,965.
Bred by Northwest Farms, she is first foal out of the unraced Unbridled's Song mare Exogenetic and closely related to dual G1 victor Exogenous.
