Devious Rumor took command at the start and never looked back on her way to a two-and-three-quarter-length victory in the Remington Park Turf Sprint September 9.
It was the first Stakes victory for the five-year-old mare by Street Boss, who improved her overall record to nine wins in 16 starts.
Bred in Oklahoma by Rendell Saddler, Devious Rumor is out of the mare Gracinha, by Siphon. Gracinha is a half-sister to multiple Stakes winner and Graded Stakes-placed Coco Belle, and hails from the immediate family of Stakes winners Medallist (G2 Dwyer, G3 Withers) and Air Commander (G2 San Fernando).
Devious Rumor is one of 26 Stakes winners for her sire Street Boss. Street Boss is the sire of the 2016 G1 Kentucky Oaks winner, Cathryn Sophia. In addition, Street Boss has sired G1 winners Capo Bastone, Danza, and The Quarterback. In the U.S., no sire standing for under $20,000 had more blacktype winners in all of 2015.
