Street Gem stands out in Desert Vixen Stakes
Street Boss filly Street Gem earned her second Stakes win in a row July 27 in the Desert Vixen Stakes at Monmouth Park. The filly most recently took the Revidere Stakes, also at Monmouth.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile turf event Street Gem was in between horses and settled into third place. She took over the lead rounding the far turn and opened up her advantage in the stretch for an easy score.
Bred by Machmer Hall in Kentucky, Street Gem is out of the mare Nesselrode, a half-sister to Stakes winner and G3-placed Desert Gold, who is the dam of G1 winner White Moonstone. Her second dam is Desert Stormette, a full-sister to G1 Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Desert Stormer.
A G1 winner and son of Street Cry, Street Boss has also sired unbeaten Stakes winner Bosco, as well as Capo Bastone who placed in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 FrontRunner Stakes. Most recently he was represented by juvenile Silvertonguedtommy, who took the Chenery Stakes at Colonial Downs July 13.
