Juvenile Silvertonguedtommy too good in Chenery Stakes
Two-year-old Silvertonguedtommy, from the second crop of Street Boss, earned his first Stakes win July 13 in the Chenery Stakes at Colonial Downs. In the five-and-one-half-furlong turf race, the colt stalked the pace in second. Taking on the leader in the stretch, he battled down the lane to put up a powerful win.
Silvertonguedtommy finished second last time out in the Rollicking Stakes at Pimlico to promising juvenile Debt Ceiling, by Discreet Cat, who went on to win the G3 Bashford Manor Stakes.
The two-year-old is out of Golden Say, a half-sister to G3 Ben Ali Stakes winner Midway Magistrate, Stakes winner De Goddaughter, and two other Stakes performers, including G1 Fountain of Youth Stakes-placed Midway Cat.
A G1-winning son of talented sire Street Cry, Street Boss has sired eight Stakes horses to date. Most recently his daughter Street Gem scored in the Revidere Stakes at Monmouth Park. His top runners also include unbeaten Stakes winner Bosco as well as Capo Bastone, who placed in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 FrontRunner Stakes.
