Street Boss represented by first stakes winner

Following up on his widening, seven-length victory earlier this month, Street Boss’ two-year-old son made it two-for-two lifetime with a dominant win in the six-furlong Edmonton Juvenile Stakes at Northlands Park, in Canada, on July 21. Always prominent, the strapping chestnut made every call a winning one en route to an impressive victory, becoming the first added-money winner for his freshman sire.

Bosco is the fifth winner from the first five foals out of his dam, Fly Borboleta, a G2-placed daughter of perennial leading sire Pulpit. Hers is also the family of the influential progenitor Raise a Native. Fly Borboleta, a $700,000 sale two-year-old at Fasig-Tipton, also has a 2012 yearling by Street Boss.

Street Boss, a multiple G1 winner and record setter, is the leading freshman sire of 2012 by sales average in North America. His two-year-old graduates this year include the $430,000 top-priced filly and the $825,000 second highest-priced colt.

With three additional 2012 winners, no other freshman sire has sired more this year, a progressive group of individuals that include two debutant turf winners in Europe.
