Terrific 20 for Street Boss
Boss Barney's Babe dominated a Maiden Special Weight at Fair Grounds December 30 and became the 20th juvenile on the year for her sire Street Boss.
The filly broke well in the five and one-half furlong race and stalked leaders from the outside. With one-quarter mile to go Boss Barney's Babe took the lead and began to pull away to ultimately score by a strong five lengths.
Bred in Kentucky by Lynn Jones, Kathy Jones, Louis P. Guida & Chris Christoforou, the filly is out of the Wild Again mare Jezebella and is a half-sister to Stakes winner Balian. Boss Barney's Babe's second dam is Stakes winner and G1-placed For All Seasons and the family also includes Canadian Champion Knights Templar as well as G2 winner Eaton's Gift.
Street Boss is currently ranked in second among the top first-year sires, with 20 two-year-old winners to date. He is also the Leading Freshman Sire by sales averages for two year-old sales. With four Stakes horses in his first crop thus far, his top runners include undefeated Stakes winner Bosco and Capo Bastone, who placed in the prestigious G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
Street Boss will stand the 2013 breeding season for $10,000 Stands and Nurses at Darley America.
