Sweet Seventeen
Street Cry's dual G1-winning son Street Boss sired his 17th two-year-old winner December 2 as Blazing Whip gamely broke her maiden at Gulfstream Park.
Going one mile, Blazing Whip strategically settled off the pace on the inside. In the upper stretch she traveled wide and came on strong to draw away with the victory for trainer Michael Matz.
Bred in Kentucky by E. H. Beau Lane III, Blazing Whip is out of Timely Legend, who has also produced multiple Stakes winner and Graded-placed Song Of Navarone, Stakes winner Celluloid Hero, and G3-placed Reel Legend.
Among the 17 winners to date for the first crop of Street Boss are three impressive black-type performers. They include undefeated Stakes winner Bosco and Capo Bastone, who placed in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 Frontrunner Stakes.
Street Boss will stand the upcoming breeding season for $10,000 stands and nurses.
