Fair Maiden took command with a furlong to go and drew off to a seven-and-a-half-length victory in the Listed Catch A Glimpse Stakes at Woodbine 17 Aug.
It was the first Stakes win for the two-year-old daughter of Street Boss, who entered the six-and-a-half-furlong turf contest off a fourteen-length romp in a maiden special weight at Arlington Park in July.
Fair Maiden broke alertly under jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson and was settled into second, just off the early pace set by leader Fast Scene. Fair Maiden began to close in on Fast Scene on the far turn before taking command at the top of the stretch and pulling away to an easy victory.
Fair Maiden was bred in Kentucky by her owner, Godolphin LLC. She is out of Shieldmaiden, a winning daughter of Smart Strike, that hails from the family of G1 Kentucky Oaks winner, Secret Status.
Fair Maiden is the 35th Stakes winner for her sire Street Boss. In addition to Fair Maiden, Street Boss is the sire of 2019 Stakes winners Lady Alida (Treasure Coast Stakes) and Totally Boss (Kentucky Downs Preview Turf Sprint), along with Graded Stakes-placed performers Social Paranoia (2nd, G1 Belmont Derby Invitational, 3rd, G2 American Turf Stakes) and Manhattan Up (2nd, G2 Lazaro Barrera Stakes).
