Cathryn Sophia took the lead at the top of the stretch and never looked back as she rolled to a seven-length victory in the G2 Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
The daughter of Street Boss led home a Darley-sired trifecta in the eight-furlong contest, with Bernardini’s Lewis Bay closing for second and Midshipman’s Dearest finishing third.
Cathryn Sophia stamped herself as the top three-year-old filly on the East Coast with the victory, which was her second Graded Stakes win in a row. The bay filly remains undefeated in four starts, with her combined margin of victory being an astounding forty-and-a-half lengths.
Bred in Maryland by Robert T. Manfuso, Cathryn Sophia is out of Sheave, an unraced daughter of Horse of the Year Mineshaft. Sheave is out of G2 Golden Rod Stakes winner Belterra, and is a half-sister to Stakes winner Taketheodds (by Street Sense).
Cathryn Sophia is one of 21 Stakes winners for Street Boss, among them Capo Bastone, winner of the G1 King's Bishop Stakes, and G1 Arkansas Derby winner, Danza.
Street Boss is standing the 2016 season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $12,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
