Parisal earned her first Stakes win and continued the remarkable winning run of her sire Astern when the impressive three-year-old filly won the G3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes over 1,200m at The Valley in Melbourne on Saturday.
Having her first run in Melbourne for Godolphin head trainer James Cummings after two restricted-class wins in Sydney, Parisal was pestered for the lead all the way by My Bella Mae.
But the daughter of Australian mare Circular, the dam of Golden Slipper runner-up Cylinder, kicked on strongly for jockey Craig Newitt in the home straight to hold off Wee Nessy and Lady Laguna.
Parisal took her record to three wins and one placing from five starts and could be headed home for another Stakes race over the Sydney autumn carnival.
Astern won five races and was placed twice from just nine starts on the racetrack.
Winner of the G1 Golden Rose, Astern is the sire of seven Stakes winners - including G1 Caulfield Guineas champ Golden Mile, Aft Cabin and Seradess.
The young stallion has sired 117 winners of 197 races, including 14 Stakes-race wins.
Astern had three lots sell to a high of $170,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne this month and has one lot in the catalogue for the 2023 Australian Easter Yearling Sale at Riverside Stables in Sydney on 3-4 April.
