Midshipman's Relentless Dancer wins his third black type contest in the Robert Hilton Memorial Stakes at Charles Town Races over seven furlongs on the dirt August 28th. Breaking into some traffic early in the race, Relentless Dancer settled mid pack through the first turn. Moving up four wide to catch the leaders around the far turn, he surged down the stretch to win by a length and half, winning his second stakes race this year and bringing his Black Type win tally to three.
Bred in Louisiana by Paul Pruett, Relentless Dancer is out of Passion for Words, a winning daughter of Benchmark. His winning family includes a Stakes winning half brother Rock N Sake and Stakes-placed My Kay Sara.
Following his July 4th Louisiana Legends Cheval Stakes win, Relentless Dancer is one of five Black Type winners, with a total of six Black Type wins, for Midshipman since July 1st. His other Black Type winners this summer include Firstmate, Shippy, Weekend Ride and the undefeated two-year-old filly Wink. Midshipman's 16.2% Black Type horses from starters over his lifetime makes him one of the top 12 stallions standing for under $50k in Kentucky. Additionally, his 10 juvenile Black Type horses in 2019 can only be topped by Into Mischief and American Pharoah.
