Street Of Gold coasts in Amelia Island Stakes
Five-year-old Street Sense mare Street Of Gold looked like a pro May 29 with a confident win in the Amelia Island Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile race on the turf Street Of Gold traveled comfortably along the inside, seven lengths off the pacesetter. The mare quickly sped up around the far turn and took over the lead, and from there no one could catch her, as the mare extended her lead down the lane to a clear win.
Street Of Gold is out of the Stakes-winning and G3-placed Giant's Causeway mare Harriett Lane, a half-sister to Graded Stakes winner Cactus Ridge and Stakes winner Sebastian County. Street Of Gold is a half-sister to Stakes winner Heiko.
Street Of Gold marks the 33rd Stakes winner for sire Street Sense, whose other top runners this year include G1 Las Virgenes Stakes winner Callback, G1 Randwick Guineas winner Hallowed Crown in Australia, and G2 Ruffian Stakes victress Wedding Toast. Street Sense's other notable runners include G1 winners Sweet Reason and Aubby K.
Street Sense stands for $35,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
