Warm Breeze bursts through in Happy Ticket Stakes
The Happy Ticket Stakes appropriately looked like quite a breeze for Street Sense's four-year-old daughter Warm Breeze February 1. The filly took her Stakes debut in impressive fashion, earning her second score in a row at Fair Grounds.
Positioned on the rail, Warm Breeze darted to the lead in the six-furlong race. Into the stretch the filly extended her advantage, before holding off late challenge at the line for a gate-to-wire victory.
Bred by Brent Harris, Beth Harris & Darley, Warm Breeze is a half-sister to another Stakes winner in Mint Slewlep. She is out of the Gilded Time mare Cry Me A River.
Warm Breeze marks the 17th Stakes winner for her sire Street Sense, who remains the only horse to win both the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 Kentucky Derby. His top runners include G1-winning fillies Sweet Reason and Aubby K, as well as multiple Graded Stakes winner Unlimited Budget.
Street Sense's stud fee is $40,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
