Favoritism pressed the early pace before taking command in the stretch and drawing off late to post a two-and-three-quarter length victory over seven rivals in a six-and-a-half-furlong maiden event at Santa Anita on Saturday, 28 October.
The dark bay/brown gelding became the 16th winner for his freshman sire, Enticed.
Making just his second career start since finishing off the board in a four-and-a-half-furlong maiden at Churchill Downs in May, Favoritism showed no signs of rust as he pressed the pace from the start. Taking command with a furlong left to run, Favoritism hit another gear and drew off, cruising under the wire an easy winner.
Bred in Kentucky by Altamira Stable, Favoritism is the fifth foal out of the winning Indian Charlie mare, Comanche Princess, a daughter of Stakes winner Channing Way (Smokester). Favoritism was a $75,000 purchase at the 2022 Keeneland September yearling sale.
Favoritism is the 16th winner for freshman sire Enticed, whose other first-crop winners include the Stakes-placed Tambo, Churchill Downs MSW winner Shimmering Allure, Ellis Park MSW winner Darkroom, and Gulfstream MSW winners Sugar Treat and Demar's Legacy.
