Street Sense colt claims second G1 victory
Co-trainer James Cummings labelled Street Sense colt Hallowed Crown “the best three-year-old in Australia” following his brilliant win in the G1 Randwick Guineas over a mile, March 7.
Hallowed Crown stalked previous G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting To Win in the early stages before striding up on his outside at the top of the straight. In the final 50m, Hallowed Crown overhauled Shooting To Win and then held off the fast-finishing Sweynesse (Lonhro) to record his sixth win in seven career starts and his second at the elite level.
A homebred for Gooree Park Stud, Hallowed Crown is out of G3 winner and G1 Golden Slipper runner-up Crowned Glory. Also the dam of G3 winner Needs Further, Crowned Glory hails from the family of G1 winner and Champion stallion Zabeel.
Street Sense has enjoyed a brilliant start to 2015 with six individual Stakes winners including another G1 winner in Callback who defeated her paternal half-sister Light The City in the Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita last month.
Street Sense stands the 2015 breeding season for $35,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
