Street Cry and Street Sense score Australian Stakes double
Three-year-old Street Cry filly Sabatini progressed from a Bendigo maiden win earlier in the month to claim the G3 Quezette Stakes over six-and-one-half at Caulfield, August 16, a race after Street Sense four-year-old Hard Stride led all the way to win the Listed Regal Roller Stakes over seven-furlongs.
After settling last in the early stages, Sabatini circled the field turning for home and finished hard to grab victory in the shadows of the post.
A homebred for Alpara Lodge, Sabatini is out of G3-winning Royal Academy mare Royal Sash, dam of G3 winner Vivi Veloce and Stakes performer Just Been Lucky.
Sabatini became the 76th Stakes winner for Street Cry who is the sire of 15 G1 winners including Street Boss, Zenyatta, Shocking, Whobegotyou and Long John.
Hard Stride jumped straight to the front in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes and controlled the race, going on to win by two lengths in what was his maiden Stakes victory.
Hard Stride was bred and is raced by Contract Racing and the Psaltis family and is the third Stakes winner for Listed-placed Maroof mare Hard Rider who is also the dam of G3 winner Big Chill and Listed winner Utah Saints.
Street Sense is the sire of 23 Stakes winners including G1 winners Sweet Reason and Aubby K.
