Splash Point, by Street Cry, made a huge splash in his first career stakes start at Meydan on February 10, coming from the back of the pack to capture the G3 UAE 2000 Guineas. The three-year-old colt has never been off of the board in his career and shows two wins and three seconds from five career starts.
Splash Point, a $300,000 Keeneland September sale yearling, was bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm LLC and is owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum. He is out of the Stakes winner and multiple Graded-placed mare, Dianehill, she a daughter of G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint heroine Very Subtle.
With his victory in the Guineas, Splash Point becomes the 30th Group or Graded Stakes winner sired by Street Cry. Horse of the Year Zenyatta is one of 12 worldwide G1 winners for Street Cry, a list that also includes Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Street Sense, who also stands alongside his father at Darley America.
