Switching Southdale to Woodbine’s turf course in his last two starts didn’t quite get the desired results for owner/breeder Rod Ferguson but the move back to the synthetic track was just what the doctor ordered. The son of Street Cry, who has never missed the board on the main track at Woodbine, came from off the pace to notch his fourth career win overall and second in G3 company on October 3rd in the Durham Cup Stakes.
Southdale is out of the unraced Ascot Night mare Pinafores Pride, she a daughter of Listed winner and multiple Group-placed Pinafores Park. Pinafores Pride also has produced a weanling colt by Elusive Quality and a yearling filly by Street Sense.
Street Cry is the sire of a total of 12 G1 winners, including the undefeated Zenyatta, who won for the 19th time October 2nd in the G1 Lady’s Secret Stakes, as well as other Darley stallions Street Sense, Street Boss and Desert Party who stands his first season in 2011.
