On November 6th at Finger Lakes Racetrack in New York, Desert Party's two-year-old daughter Mecke's Madalyn made it two-for-two in winning the Shesastronecoldfox Stakes in come-from-behind fashion.
Her Stakes debut varied slightly from her career debut three weeks earlier in that she actually had a horse beat in the Stonecoldfox Stakes whereas in her first start she was at the very back of the pack. It didn't make much of a difference in either one as she passed all who were in front of her and remains undefeated.
Bred by Corby Caiazzo and Stephen Sinatra, Mecke's Madalyn is a half-sister to the Stakes-placed Swallow the Field. Her dam, Royal Mecke, is a half-sister to Stakes winner/G2-placed Royal Lad.
Desert Party has now sired a total of 29 winners - seven Graded Stakes performers or Stakes performers - from his first crop. Mecke's Madalyn, from his second crop, joins Partay as his second Stakes performer from his 2013 group of foals.
Desert Party will stand the 2016 season at a fee of $4,000, stands and nurses, at Sequel Stallions in New York.
