Ocho Ocho Ocho stars in G3 Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes
Two-year-old Street Sense colt Ocho Ocho Ocho just keeps winning, winning, winning, this time in the $1 million G3 Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes November 22. An easy winner of the Juvenile Turf Sprint Stakes at Santa Anita on Breeders' Cup Day, the colt returned as the favorite at Delta Downs and lived up to the hype, staying a perfect three-for-three.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile race Ocho Ocho Ocho was traveling along the rail, saving ground in fourth. Around the far turn the colt began advancing on the inside, and then battled down the stretch for a well-fought win.
Bred by Siena Farms LLC, Ocho Ocho Ocho was a $200,000 two-year-old purchase and is a half-brother it G2-placed Private Ensign. The colt is out of Winner, daughter of Pennant Champion, a full-sister to G1 winners Miner's Mark and Traditionally, as well as G1-placed Our Emblem. Winner is a half-sister to G3 winner Animal Spirits and the dam of multiple Graded Stakes winner Interactif.
Ocho Ocho Ocho is the 12th Graded Stakes winner for Street Sense, a son of talented sire Street Cry. Other top runners for the sire include three-time G1 winner Sweet Reason, G1 Humana Distaff winner Aubby K, and Australian G1 winner Hallowed Crown. Other Stakes winners this year for the sire include Homecoming Classic Stakes winner Cigar Street, exciting talented two-year-olds Hubba Shake, winner of the Listed Armed Forces Stakes, and Light The City, winner of the Anoakia Stakes.
Street Sense will stand the 2015 breeding season for $35,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
