Street Sense mare La Passe made it back-to-back G2 victories and in the process staked her claim for the G1 Myer Classic in a fortnight’s time with a brilliant win in the G2 Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield, October 17.
A last-start winner of the G2 Blazer Stakes, La Passe was only given an outside chance by punters in the Tristarc Stakes. However, after switching back to the rail after straightening for home, the five-year-old dashed through before going on to record an impressive victory.
Bred by Darren and Liz Dance of Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock, La Passe is out of the Stakes-placed Danehill Dancer mare Pirouettes, also the dam of G2-placed Chasse.
Street Sense is the sire of 16 Stakes winners this year including G1 winners Hallowed Crown, Callback and Wedding Toast.
