Aztec Sense proved too tough for his competition once again when he rolled to a three-length victory in the $100,000 Salvatore M. Debunda PTHA President’s Cup at Parx Racing Aug. 25.
Sent off as the heavy 3-5 favorite, the five-year-old Street Sense gelding sat just off the flank of the pacesetter Two Weeks Off through the early stages of the race. On the far turn, Aztec Sense moved alongside the leader, and the pair briefly matched strides before Aztec Sense took command and drew off on his way to earning his sixth consecutive victory.
Bred in Kentucky by Charles Fipke, Aztec Sense is out of the Stakes-placed mare, Aztec Pearl (by A.P. Indy). Aztec Pearl is a full sister to Champion Festival Of Light and a half-sister to G1 winners Acoma (Spinster Stakes) and Arch (Super Derby).
Street Sense has sired over 50 Stakes winners, including multiple G1 winners Sweet Reason and Wedding Toast. Street Sense is the sire of 2018 Graded Stakes winners The Lieutenant (G3 All American Stakes), Avery Island (G3 Withers) and McKinzie (G3 Sham Stakes).
