Girolamo's two-year-old daughter Sacred Season broke her maiden in gate-to-wire fashion at Finger Lakes on November 24th to become the 19th winner for her freshman sire.
Sent off as the even-money favorite in the six furlong contest, Sacred Season broke alertly and battled for the lead in the early going before taking a one-length advantage going into the turn. She began to pull away from the field through the stretch before holding off a late charge from Ohmygollymsmolly to win by a length.
Bred in New York by Little Flower Farm LLC, Sacred Season is out of the stakes-placed Wiseman’s Ferry mare Seasons Wise.
Currently fourth on the first-crop sire list by earnings, Girolamo's other winners include Stakes winner and G1-placed TDN Rising Star She’s All Ready, Belmont debut winner and Stakes-placed Lucky Lurie, Saratoga debut winner and Stakes-placed Pagan, and six length Belmont maiden winner Libreta.
Girolamo's stud fee for 2016 will be $15,000, with live foal/stands and nurses terms.
