Solicit with ease in G3 Vanity

Three-year-old Street Cry filly becomes the 71st Stakes winner for her sire

Ending her previous campaign with third in the G1 Crown Oaks, three-year-old Street Cry filly Solicit resumed on February 15 at Flemington, contesting the G3 Vanity Stakes over seven-furlongs.

Jumping straight to the lead, the Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained filly maintained a solid tempo and as the field rounded the home turn, she extended her lead to record her first Stakes victory by two-and-three-quarter lengths from Critical Angel, with the previously unbeaten Commands filly Girl In Flight finishing in third.

Bred by Contract Racing Pty Ltd and Mr & Mrs N Psaltis, Solicit is the fifth foal from Danehill’s dual Listed winner Princesa, herself a sister to the dam of this season’s G3 Chairman’s Stakes winner Nayeli and a half-sister to the Group Three-winning, G1 placed Kaphero.

Already the dam of the G2 winner Star Of Giselle (Reset) and the Listed placed Ducal Castle (Domesday), Princesa produced a colt by Medaglia d'Oro in August last year.

Becoming the 71st Stakes winner for her sire, Street Cry's 15 individual G1 winners include Zenyatta, Whobegotyou, Shocking, Darley stallions Street Boss and Street Sense as well as Australia's G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Long John, successful a few days back in the G3 UAE 2000 Guineas on his debut for Godolphin.

Street Cry stands for a fee of $100,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
