Bustling made it four wins from five career starts with an impressive two-and-a-half length victory in the G3 WA Sires Produce Stakes at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday, 4 May.
It was the third straight Stakes victory for the two-year-old Frosted gelding, who previously added the G2 Karrakatta Plate and the Listed Amelia Park – Perth Stakes to his resume. The victory also gave trainer Daniel Morton the Karrakatta Plate – WA Sires Produce Stakes double for the second year in a row.
Confidently ridden by jockey Blake Parnham, Bustling raced in second early, just off the flank of leader Battle Commander. Bustling then took command with less than 400 meters to run and cruised home to win easily while under a hand-ride. Golden Kathleen was second, with Big Shots coming in third. Battle Commander faded to fourth.
Bred in Australia by Oakland Park Stud, Bustling is the first Graded Stakes winner out of the mare, Busimiss, a multiple Stakes-placed daughter of Key Business.
Frosted is off to a hot start in 2024, with five Stakes winners to his credit so far. In addition to Bustling, the stallion is represented by Post Time, winner of the G2 Carter Handicap; Frost At Dawn, winner of the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint; Security Code, winner of the Broadway Stakes and Icicles, winner of the Likely Exchange Stakes.
Frosted is standing the 2024 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $10,000, stands and nurses.
