Air Khalifa was an impressive winner number 20 for freshman sire Discreet Cat breaking his maiden at Hanshin December 25.The two-year-old colt defeated a field of 15 during the Christmas Day event. It was a very solid two-length margin for the victory.
Bred by Winchester Farm, Air Khalifa is out of the Afternoon Deelites mare Chez La Femme, a half-sister to two Stakes winner. The colt's second dam is Stakes winner She's Ecstactic.
Discreet Cat has rounded out 2011 quite well with some strong two-year-old winners. Discreet Dancer, a two-year-old colt, won his debut breaking the track record at Gulfstream December 3 with a 100 Beyer. In addition, Cat Lore was a six-length debut winner at Fair Grounds. Out Of Bounds, a son of Breeders' Cup winner Unbridled Elaine, also broke his maiden at Hollywood Park December 11.
Discreet Cat will stand for $12,500 in the 2012 breeding season.
