Millionaire Star Guitar, by Quiet American, recorded a remarkable 19th career Stakes victory December 10 with a strong score in the Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes at Fair Grounds. The six-year-old's earnings have now surpassed more than $1.5 million to date.
In the one and one-eighth mile event Star Guitar settled just off the early pacesetter in second. Into the stretch Star Guitar began to take over the lead and edged away in the final stages under steady handling from jockey Corey Lanerie.
The accomplished son of Quiet American was bred by Brittlyn Stable, Inc., M. Benoit, and E. Benoit. He is out of the Malagra mare Minit Towinit, a Stakes winner herself. Star Guitar is a half-brother to Stakes winners Grand Minit and Favorite Minit as well.
Quiet American is a powerful influence for both soundness and class. In addition to his fantastic son Star Guitar, he has sired G1 Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet. He has also sired G1 winner and the dam of Bernardini Cara Rafaela. In 2011 his yearlings brought up to $430,000 at auction. Quiet American will stand for $15,000 in 2012.
