Godolphin have been enjoying a magnificent campaign during this year’s Dubai Carnival and on Super Thursday the boys in blue further added to their winners’ tally in style, courtesy of Elusive Warning (Elusive Quality) who took the G3 Burj Nahaar to record his first Stakes win.
Breaking smartly from the gate, Elusive Warning settled in a prominent position in third on the outside before beginning his run at the top of the stretch. Taking the lead with two furlongs left to run, the four-year-old colt saw off a sustained challenge from Blackat Blackitten to land the one-mile contest by half a length, with Asiatic Boy a further two-and-three-quarter lengths further back in third.
Elusive Warning was unbeaten as a three-year-old, winning twice over six furlongs at Aqueduct before showing promise over the same trip on his UAE debut last month. He will now be aimed at the G2 Godolphin Mile, due to take place at Nad al Sheba on World Cup night.
Bred by Robert Raphaelson, he is out of the Stakes-winning Valid Appeal mare Valid Warning and is from the family of Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Gilded Time.
