Elusive Bluff become the second Group winner in less than a week for Elusive Quality when landing the G3 Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont Park.
The colt out of Megans Bluff (Pine Bluff) was bred by in Kentucky by Eldon Farm Equine LLC. He is now two wins from two starts and will head to the west coast with his next run likely to be in either the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile or the Juvenile Turf.
Raven’s Pass (pictured), who won the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last Saturday is another son of Elusive Quality heading to Santa Anita and, prior to that, the stallion has several high profile runners to watch out for this weekend, including Devotee in the G1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland on Friday. That same day, Huntdown bids to build on an impressive wide-margin victory on his last start when he lines up for the G1 Shadwell Middle Park Stakes while Baharah runs in the G1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday, a race won last year by Street Cry's daughter Majestic Roi.
In Paris on Sunday Absent Pleasure and Alamanni both have engagements on the Prix de l”arc de Triomphe ‘undercard’, which may just be the classiest supporting card of the whole year, consisting as it does of five Group One events. Two-year-old Absent Pleasure is entered in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium) while Alamanni looks set to run in the Prix de l’Opera.
