Freshman sire Consolidator (pictured) recorded his 14th individual winner on October 11, when his son Thisonesforelmo dead-heated for first over seven furlongs at Woodbine.
Always close to the pace, the Brian Lynch-trained colt came five wide into the stretch and despite bumping with the early leader Carbon Footprint close to home, finished well and could not be separated at the wire from Steel Dust.
Bred by Brandywine Farm and Stephen Upchurch, Thisonesforelmo is the fourth winner out of the Unbridled mare Unbridled Rage, herself a daughter of the multiple Stakes-placed Suite.
Just a day later, another of Consolidator’s winners - Absolute Music - added further Black type to her resume when taking third in the G3 Prix Eclipse at Chantilly, France.
Fellow Darley sire Medaglia d'Oro also enjoyed success on Sunday when Payton d’Oro recorded her third Stakes win with victory in the $200,000 Remington Park Oaks.
Settled in fourth position early on, the three-year-old filly contested the lead after the first quarter before taking command coming into the stretch and kept to her task well to win the one-and-one-sixteenth mile contest by a length.
Payton d’Oro has now won on five occasions, including the G2 Black Eyed Susan Stakes earlier this year. Bred by T/C Stable and James Carter, she is out of the winning Jade Hunter mare Jealous and Jaded, a half-sister to four Stakes performers including Embraceable – dam of another of Medaglia d’Oro’s Stakes-winning daughters in Retraceable.
