The Elkstone Group, owner/breeders of Medaglia d’Oro colt Self Dealin’ Man had plenty to celebrate on Sunday when the two-year-old gained valuable black type success with a length-and-a-quarter victory in the seven-furlong Christopher Elser Memorial Stakes at Philadelphia Park.
Self Dealin’ Man is out of the Goldlust mare Mum’s Gold and earned $30,000 for his first Stakes victory. He was not the only good Medaglia d’Oro juvenile in action over the weekend as the young sire also recorded his third individual Group/Grade One winner on Saturday when Passion For Gold strolled to an impressive six-length success in France’s Criterium de Saint-Cloud over ten furlongs.
Street Cry and Elusive Quality both recorded Stakes-placed runners on Sunday when Street Move, a three-year-old son of Street Cry, ran second in the G3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes and Roan Innish, a two-year-old filly by Elusive Quality, also finished runner-up in the Listed Glorious Song Stakes at Woodbine.
