Hard Spun's four-year-old son Bold Journey went from last to first to capture his sixth career win and his first Graded Stakes victory in the G3 Fall Highweight at Aqueduct on November 24.
A three-time allowance winner in 2023, Bold Journey broke a step slowly and found himself at the back of the pack through the early stages of the six-furlong dirt event. Still last at the top of the stretch, he made a huge move to run by them all and pulled clear to win by a length at the wire.
Bred in New York by Fred W. Hertrich lll & John D. Fielding, Bold Journey is out of the winning Super Saver mare Polly Freeze, making him a half-brother to G1 winner Americanrevolution.
In addition to Bold Journey, Hard Spun is also represented in 2023 by Graded Stakes winners Loyalty, Two Phil's, Spun Glass, and Millie Girl.
Hard Spun will stand the 2024 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $35,000 stands and nurses.
