Kallos again showed his liking for the Flemington straight track when the son of Medaglia d’Oro (USA) won the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap over 1000m on Saturday, 25 March.
A winner of the G2 Danehill Stakes in October 2021 at Flemington, Kallos lost form but bounced back to win at Flemington over 1000m earlier this month.
The James Cummings-trained four-year-old repeated the effort on Saturday when he came from midfield under jockey Ben Melham with a big sprint to beat The Bopper by 0.4 length.
A Very Fine Red was the same margin away in third place in a time of 57.19 seconds.
Kallos took his record to five wins and three placings from 15 starts for prize money and bonuses of $532,090.
The gelding is out the Exceed And Excel mare Calliope - who also has a three-year-old filly (The Muses) by Lonhro, a two-year-old Lonhro colt (Rhesus), and a weanling filly by Street Boss (US).
Calliope was covered by the Champion Two-Year-Old Pinatubo last September.
Medaglia d’Oro won eight races - including three at G1 level - and was placed seven times during his 17-start career.
The Darley stallion has now had 1,120 winners of 3,414 races worldwide worth more than A$244 million.
Medaglia d’Oro has sired 170 individual Stakes-race winners of 360 Stakes races and Kallos was his fifth Stakes race winner in the past month.
He has also sired 26 G1 winners while at stud.
