Loyalty earned her second consecutive Stakes victory with a sharp one-and-a-half length score in the Listed Duchess Stakes at Woodbine on Saturday, 1 October.
The three-year-old Hard Spun filly, who races for the partnership of Gainesway Farm and LNJ Foxwoods, now has posted two straight Stakes wins, and improved her record to four wins in five starts.
Loyalty broke alertly and settled into third as Hollywood Walk and Join the Dance battled each other for the lead. Loyalty put her head in front at the half-mile marker, gradually increasing her lead as the runners swept into the far turn.
Loyalty continued to maintain her advantage through the stretch, eventually crossing the line an easy winner. Souper Hoity Toity closed for second, with Join the Dance holding on for third.
Loyalty was bred in Florida by Godolphin and Best A Luck Farm. She is out of the unraced Elusive Quality mare, Slew's Quality, and is a half to Champion sprinter and Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint winner Shamrock Rose as well as Stakes-placed runners My Friends Beer and Bet On Mike.
Loyalty is one of 12 Stakes winners this year for her sire, Hard Spun. In addition to the Duchess winner, Hard Spun has sired recent Stakes winners Hard to Figure, Sister Seagull, Hard Empire (G2 in Aust.), Aloha West, Sparkle Blue, Two Phil’s and Spun Glass.
