Discreet Cat's Stormdriver cruises in John Henry Stakes
Stormdriver, a son of Discreet Cat, sealed his first Stakes win April 25 with a powerful score in the John Henry Stakes at Evangeline Downs. In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile race Stormdriver pressed the pace along the inside, just off the pace. Into the far turn the son of Discreet Cat angled to the outside to challenge, and sailed past competitors in the stretch to draw away with the win by five-and-three-quarter-lengths.
The five-year-old Stormdriver is out of the Stakes-winning mare Prom Date. He was bred by Tigertail Ranch.
Discreet Cat is the sire of nine Graded or Group winners lifetime. His top runners include Dads Caps, who recently repeated in the G1 Carter Handicap at Aqueduct, as well as G1 Del Mar Oaks winner Discreet Marq, and G1 Chandelier Stakes winner Secret Compass.
Discreet Cat stands the current breeding season for $7,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
