Beauty Parlor takes US debut in G3 Orchid Stakes
After winning the Prix Occitanie in France to close out her three-year-old season, Elusive Quality filly Beauty Parlor made her four-year-old debut in the US, proving best in the G3 Orchid Stakes on the turf at Gulfstream Park March 28.
In the one-and-one-half-mile turf race Beauty Parlor pressed the pace from second position throughout most of the G3 event. At the top of the stretch the four-year-old filly took her cue to challenge for the lead and sealed the win down the lane.
A homebred for Joseph Allen, Beauty Parlor is out of the G2 winner Moon Queen by Sadler's Wells. Beauty Queen is is a half-sister to Stakes winner The Brothers War.
Beauty Parlor marks the 45th Graded Stakes winner lifetime for Elusive Quality. This talented group of runners includes G1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, G1 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, G1 winner and 2014 top freshman sire Quality Road, and Australian Champion Sepoy. The sire was most recently represented by G3 Palm Beach Stakes winner Eh Cumpari.
