North Slope coasts in Evening Attire Stakes

A winner of the Bowl Game Stakes on the turf last fall, Elusive Quality's North Slope made the switch to dirt February 22 and proved it was no problem, taking the Evening Attire Stakes.

In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile race at Aqueduct, North Slope was in between horses in fourth along the backstretch, two lengths off the pace. At the top of the lane the son of Elusive Quality found racing room to take over the lead, and no one could catch him in the stretch as he cruised to victory.

Bred in Kentucky by Darley, the five-year-old also placed in the G3 National Museum Of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes as a three-year-old. North Slope is out of Stakes-placed A.P. Indy mare Jinni, a daughter of Champion and multiple G1 winner Ajina, who has also produced Stakes winner Manchurian. The family traces back to Elusive Quality's G1-winning son and 2014 top freshman sire Quality Road.

North Slope ranks among Elusive Quality's strong 110 Stakes winners lifetime. In addition to the aforementioned Quality Road, the sire's 13 G1 winners include Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, G1-winning filly Elusive Kate, and Australian Champion Sepoy.
