Group glory for Air Khalifa
Discreet Cat's son Air Khalifa notched another victory at Tokyo, his first at Group level, when taking the G3 Negishi Stakes by a length, in the process taking his career earnings past $2 million. He now has the impressive record of eight victories in 18 starts, three Stakes successes and has only finished out of the money once.
Bred by Winchester Farm, Air Khalifa is a full-sister to fellow Japanese winner Air Saladin and out of the winning Afternoon Deelites mare Chez La Femme, a half-sister to two Stakes winners. Chez La Femme also has a full-sister juvenile to Air Khalifa.
Discreet Cat, who stands the current season at a fee of $7,500, has sired 16 Stakes winners including the 2013 G1-winning fillies Discreet Marq and Secret Compass and 2014 Carter Handicap hero Dads Cap.
