Gold Medal Dancer shines in Minnesota H.B.P.A. Distaff Stakes
Just a few hours after Medaglia d'Oro was represented by his newest G1 winner Coffee Clique, the sire added another Stakes winner to his record as Gold Medal Dancer took the Minnesota H.B.P.A. Distaff Stakes at Canterbury Park.
In the one-mile race Gold Medal Dancer settled off the pace in seventh early on. Around the far turn the four-year-old filly made her move, traveling between horses in the stretch before taking the lead in the final stages.
A homebred for Pin Oak Stable, Gold Medal Dancer is out of the Stakes winning and Graded-placed Kingmambo mare Bachata.
Medaglia d'Oro is the sire of 11 G1 winners, including the aforementioned Coffee Clique who won the G1 Just A Game Stakes previously in the day at Belmont. In addition, his most renowned progeny include two G1 Kentucky Oaks winners in Plum Pretty and Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra, G1-winning turf mare Marketing Mix, and G1 CashCall Futurity winner Violence.
Medaglia d'Oro's stud fee is $100,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
