Street Cry seven-year-old records second Stakes victory
Seven-year-old Street Cry gelding River’s Lane recorded the second Stakes win of his career with an all-the-way victory in the Listed C S Hayes Memorial Cup over a mile at Morphettville, South Australia, March 10.
River’s Lane enjoyed a comfortable lead in the early stages before kicking clear rounding the home turn and going on to win by a length-and-a-half. It was the 11th career win for River’s Lane who has now amassed over $450,000 in prizemoney.
Bred by Jason Carvill who now races the gelding in partnership, River’s Lane is the second winner and first Stakes winner for unraced Made Of Gold mare Star Maid, a sister to G3 winner Cosmic Strike.
Street Cry is the sire of 71 Stakes winners worldwide, among them 15 G1 winners including Street Boss, Street Sense, Zenyatta, Shocking, Whobegotyou and Long John. He is standing at Jonabell Farm at a fee of $100,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
