Discreet Dancer puts on a show at Gulfstream
Sent off at 9-5, Discreet Dancer proved the newest Graded Stakes winner for Discreet Cat March 9 with a powerful win in the G2 Gulfstream Park Handicap.
Discreet Dancer posted a track record-breaking 10 length debut win as a two-year-old, and followed his first two career victories with a third in the G2 Fountain of Youth Stakes in 2012. Returning with an Allowance win in early February, the consistent Discreet Dancer has finished on the board in all career starts.
In the one mile G2 Gulfstream Park Handicap, four-year-old Discreet Dancer was in a stalking position in second. At the quarter pole the colt began to take charge at the front, before cruising in the stretch to an easy four and one-half length victory.
A homebred for E. Paul Robsham Stable, LLC, Discreet Dancer is out of Gone West mare West Side Dancer, who has also produced G2 Swale Stakes winner Travelin Man.
As a sire, Discreet Cat's other Graded Stakes winners include G2 Fantasy Stakes winner Mamma Kimba and G3 Sham Stakes winner Out Of Bounds, who is a son of Breeders' Cup victress Unbridled Elaine. His promising first two crops have a total of 11 Stakes horses, with a third crop hitting the track in 2013. Discreet Cat stands for $12,500 Stands and Nurses at Darley USA.
