Medaglia d'Oro colt Violence stays perfect in G2 Nashua Stakes
It was a Darley-sired exacta in the G2 Nashua Stakes November 4 at Aqueduct, as Medaglia d'Oro colt Violence stayed perfect with a win. Hard Spun colt Vegas No Show, a half to G1 winner Bullsbay, finished a strong second.
Two-year-old Violence was an impressive debut winner at Saratoga in August. Making his second start in the one mile G2 Nashua Stakes, Violence settled into position in fourth. Approaching the turn both Violence and Vegas No Show began to make their move into contention at the front. There was no turning back from there and Violence cruised in the stretch to an effortless win.
A $600,000 yearling purchase at Keeneland September, Violence is out of the Gone West mare Violent Beauty. The colt hails from the deep family of Champion Older Mare Sky Beauty as well as G1 winners Maplejinsky, Dayjur, Tale Of Ekati, Pleasant Home, and Pine Island.
Medaglia d'Oro has a tremendous record at stud, including two G1 Kentucky Oaks winners in Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra and Plum Pretty. A force to be reckoned with on all surfaces, he has been represented by G1 Rodeo Drive Stakes winner Marketing Mix in 2012 on the turf. The leading commercial sire of the day, Medaglia d'Oro tops by number of both sales and session toppers.
