Medaglia d’Oro four-year-old Warrior’s Reward made a strong late challenge to claim his first victory in Grade One company when landing Aqueduct’s Carter Handicap at the wire on Saturday.
This was the fourth career victory for the colt who was placed in the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes and G2 Dwyer Stakes last season. Bred by Jayeff B Stables, Warrior’s Reward is from his sire's first crop and is out of the Seeking The Gold mare For All You Do.
Warrior's Reward was the second Stakes winner in two days for Medaglia d’Oro, who is also the sire of Cassidys Pride, winner of the Listed Harmony Lodge Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Friday. The four-year-old filly is owned by her breeder Peter J Mirabelli and has now won five races in 12 starts.
Medaglia d’Oro is also the sire of Grade One winners Rachel Alexandra, Gabby’s Golden Gal and British Classic prospect Passion For Gold.
