Treasured Up golden in Keertana Stakes
Four-year-old filly Treasured Up was in top form May 18 at Churchill Downs winning the Listed Keertana Stakes. Graded Stakes-placed over the track at three, Treasured Up became the newest Stakes winner for her sire Medaglia d'Oro.
In the one-and-three-eighths-mile turf race, Treasured Up remained on the inside to save ground early on. With three furlongs to go, the filly made her move on the outside and came on strong to snatch the win in the final strides for owner Spendthrift Farm LLC.
Bred by Summer Wind Farm, Treasured Up is out of Melisma, who has also produced G2 San Diego Handicap winner and G1 Dubai World Cup-placed Choctaw Nation and Stakes-placed Mined Over Matter.
The talented Medaglia d'Oro is the sire of 22 Graded/Group winners lifetime, on all surfaces. They include Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra, G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty, and G1-winning turf mare Marketing Mix. His most recent Graded Stakes winner is Coffee Clique, who won the G3 Selene Stakes also on on May 19 at Woodbine, as well as 2012 G1 CashCall Futurity winner Violence and 2013 G2 Elkhorn Stakes winner Dark Cove.
