Nyquist's phenomenal first crop continues as he records his tenth winner with Thinking. The two-year-old filly comes home an impressive winner over seven furlongs on the Keeneland dirt track October 17th.
Breaking from an outside post, Thinking settled comfortably as she stalked the pace around the backstretch before picking off the pace setters one by one into the final turn. Taking the lead under a hand ride at the top of the stretch, she went on to kick clear of her rivals winning by a length and a half.
Bred in Kentucky by Kip Knelman’s Farefellows Farm, Thinking is out the Aptitude mare Critikal Reason. A Black Typed placed filly, Critikal Reason is the dam of five winners from six runners, including Black Type winner and G1 placed, Bajan. She is also the half-sister to G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Lemons Forever, who as a broodmare has produced the 2017 Eclipse Champion Forever Unbridled and G1 winner Unbridled Forever.
With ten individual winners, Nyquist is also the sire of G1 Spinaway winner Vequist, G1 Summer Stakes winner Gretzky The Great, G1 Spinaway-placed and winner at Saratoga and Keeneland Lady Lilly, Saratoga winner Team Merchants, Ellis Park winners Assertive Style and Dream Quist, Laurel debut winner Kwist, Churchill debut winner Seeking Seca, and Gulfstream Park winner Slashing.
