Street Secret stands out at Belmont
Street Cry's five-year-old daughter Street Secret was heavily favored in the Open Mind Stakes at Belmont Park, and there was no stopping her as she became the 63rd Stakes winner for her sire June 23.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile race Street Secret set the pace and had an uncontested lead. The mare kicked on in the stretch to easily take her first Stakes victory.
Street Secret was bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs, and is out of the Stakes-placed mare Always Awesome, who is a half-sister to G1 winner Anzillero. The family traces back to that of G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Urban Sea, who produced the likes of Sea The Stars and Galileo.
Talented sire Street Cry has been represented by 13 G1 winners around the world, among them Horse Of The Year Zenyatta, G1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, and G1 winner and record-breaking sprinter Street Boss.
