Elusive Quality recorded a brace of Stakes winners on Saturday when Barracks Road landed Woodbine’s Ontario Damsel Stakes and Elusive Gift added a second black type win to his tally with victory in the Punch Line Stakes at Colonial Downs.
It was a first Stakes victory for three-year-old filly Barracks Road, who broke her maiden on her seasonal debut on May 23. The daughter of the French Deputy mare Padmore was bred by her owner Eugene Melnyk and is a half-sister to German G2 winner King Of Sydney.
Elusive Gift, a five-year-old gelding out of Christmas Gift, by Green Desert, was bred by Edward P Evans, who is also responsible for Elusive Quality’s top-rated performer Quality Road. Saturday’s five-furlong victory followed up on his success in the John D. Marsh Stakes at the same track back on May 29.
