Quiet American filly Seattle Smooth recorded her fourth straight Stakes win on May 16, landing the G2 Shuvee Handicap at Belmont.
Breaking well from the inside post, the four-year-old was settled off the pace under Ramon Dominguez. Having found herself blocked coming into the stretch, Seattle Smooth was switched to the outside and produced an outstanding late surge to take the one-mile contest by three-quarters of a length.
Having rounded off her sophomore year with a pair of Stakes wins in the Go For Wand and the G2 Fitz Dixon Cotillion, she kicked off her four-year-old campaign with a five-and-three-quarter length victory in the G2 Bed o’ Roses Handicap at Aqueduct. Trainer Anthony Dutrow indicated that her next start could be in the G1 Ogden Phipps Handicap on June 13.
