Second time’s a charm for Rockport Harbor colt
After finishing second by just a head in his first start at Saratoga in September, Cane Garden Bay was a bit closer early on in his second try at Keeneland on October 16th, and was able to catch the leaders in mid stretch before pulling away by a widening length and a half.
A son of Rockport Harbor, Cane Garden Bay was bred in Kentucky by Atlas Farm, et al, and is out of the G2 stakes-placed Snow Chief mare Trav n’ Kris. He is a half-brother to G1-placed Bear in the Woods and stakes-placed Mr. Negotiator.
Rockport Harbor, and undefeated two-year-old son of sire of sires Unbridled’s Song, is the sire of nine other winners from his first crop racing in 2010, including Swynford Stakes winner Bear’s Future as well as stakes-placed Minutesandtouches.
